Techno is the result of an experiment carried out by a robot-production corporation known only as TAFAI - they captured him from his village and turned him into a metal-manipulating cyborg by emplanting nanobots throughout his entire body. The transformation gave Techno immortality, as he hasn't aged a day since the operation occurred. Because he is a cyborg with the specific ability to manipulate metal, and because his body is laced with metallic nanobots, he has the ability to manipulate his own body - he most commonly uses this to pull out strands of his own hair and turn them into incredibly sharp darts, which he uses to pierce his opponents' vital spots. He is an incredibly intelligent man, both by nature and by virtue of the fact that he has lived for over 200 years - he can think his way out of just about any situation, and he never loses his cool. He put his intelligence to great use by developing a fabric laced with metal ions for his clothes, so he can manipulate them as well, most commonly turning his cape into a long, spiky whip or into wings for flight. He is also able to adjust his visual and auditory processors so that he can see ghosts such as Zoru, though he cannot use their powers as Avid can. A strong warrior for justice, Techno will do anything it takes to protect those he cares about, even if it costs him his own life. He is currently married to Amethyst, and they have two children - Sieve and Ametrine.
